Man I feel like A Woman

Androgynous style of dressing has always been my go to style. I love to flirt between bohemian blouses, dresses and sandals with ankle boots in the summer. But as soon as the weather begins to change my favourite season starts: Autumn. Out comes the leather, the black jeans, the oversized slogan tees, the long blazers, the loose fitting shirts and the red or dark burgundy lipstick. Most of my style inspirations come from watching men’s fashion week. Or browsing the men’s wear departments at my favourite stores. I love Dior on New Bond Street and my favourite section other than the homeware section is the men’s department downstairs. I bet that surprises most of you. Though I love Dior bags and accessories my first stop is always downstairs to marvel at the new in men’s section. I even prefer the current collection of men’s accessories. And dare I say it! I prefer the Dior Homme packaging. The black boxes with the back Dior wording so sexy and so chic. I purchased a card holder from there a couple of weeks ago It’s a beautiful taupe colour with a vintage style print and the wording Christian Dior Atelier with the address of the original store printed on it in a vintage style font. I am 100% enthralled with this collection the matching O’Case is also a stunning piece which has worked its way to the top of my wish list. To me there is nothing quite as sexy as seeing a woman rock a tuxedo with a slick of red lipstick and a lot of casual cool attitude. I love how this look is underrated sexy and all without having to dress in something overtly sexy. Recently Kate Moss & Naomi Campbell wore Dior menswear to the most recent men’s Dior fashion show. Adding their own unique feminine twist to a masculine chic look. The Kim Jones collection is launching soon and I will be there ready and waiting to see and be inspired by all the new season pieces. My usual pallet of dressing is various shades of grey black and white. When I was larger I only wore black. Black has always been my safe place colour. I like to blend into my surroundings. I have never seen my self as a star more as the supporting act but I am fine with that there is a simplistic beauty in watching in stepping back and taking it all in. These days I am trying to step out of the shadows more and become my own women. But I will never drift to far away from the masculine feminine style that makes me feel like me and keeps me feeling safe. These days I am trying to incorporate more fitted pieces so if I am wearing a loose fitting cashmere jumper I will pair it with skinny jeans or leather leggings. For me it’s all about balance. I am top heavy but I love cosy comfortable oversized style jumpers and tees so going for a more fitted style on my lower half tends to balance me out and then throwing on a slightly oversized fitted blazer and vola I am ready. This winter I have already started to make some key fashion investments to go along with my current menswear influenced style for example I have just purchased my first piece of designer apparel. Which I cannot put into words how excited I am to now have. Apart from the odd vintage piece this will be my first designer ready to wear item and I intend on wearing it none stop this coming winter. This piece is a sweatshirt from the Dior Homme men’s wear department and it is exactly what I have been waiting for. In my colour black with the wording in a luxurious gold foil print. This will be my piece for Autumn I will be dressing it down with black jeans and trainers or with a oversized white silk shirt underneath and a pleated checked skirt. I am imagining it worn under a teddy bear coat, over a black leather mini skirt and rider style boots. Because I purchased it super oversized it looks great worn over this seasons key piece a leopard print skirt. I have already mentally planned hundreds of outfits based around this jumper and I know the cost per wear will be justified by the end of this winter.
Even when the occasion calls for a dress maybe a wedding or a special dinner where jeans or trousers just won’t cut it. I still like to add an element of masculine tailoring to my look be it a black cape coat or tuxedo jacket. This style of dressing will always be my anchor.

I love menswear! I don’t think gender should ever have to define anyone, especially in fashion, which is all about self-expression! Love the sweatshirt x
